The Chinese traditional Spring Festival is coming. Herb Nutritionals will be closed for the Chinese New year beginning at Monday, Feb 16 through Wednesday, Feb25.We will reopen on Thursday, Feb 26, 2015.

The Spring Festival, also popularly known as Chinese New Year, is the most important festival for Chinese people, being the longest holiday here in China. During this period, all family members, no matter how far away living from home go back from home and get together, which is similar with Christmas Day to the westerners.

All families in both urban and rural areas traditionally handpick a pair of Spring Festival couplets to paste on the door, adding some joyous atmosphere to the festival.

red packets , or most known as Hongbao in Chinese, is a red envelope with gift money in it, which symbolizes luck and wealth. Red packets are typically handed out to younger generations by their parents, grandparents, relatives, close neighbors, and friends, and usually the immediate family gives Hongbao to the children on New Year’s Eve. Money given in this way may not be refused and the pretty envelopes add sincerity to the gift.
